Best Winter Yoga Workouts
We begin another month of a new year of hope, illusion and goals. We know that we are getting closer to spring, but it depends on where you are reading from, it is still cold out there for some. Whilst you may be tempted to go into hibernation mode and stay indoors, it’s beneficial to warm up with exercise and keep yourself moving during the cold. In this blog we bring you the ideal asanas to practice this winter season so that you keep moving and exercising in the best way while you feel good about yourself.
Halasana
If what you are looking for is to help reduce nasal congestion, this pose is ideal for that. One of its advantages is the way in which it helps to open the chest and therefore helps to increase airflow in this entire area. As well as in the chest, it also benefits the back and stomach, since it also opens the thoracic cavity and allows more air to enter. So if you have a cold, this pose will help you eliminate those annoying symptoms.
Camel Pose (Ustrasana)
For those who deal with bothersome allergies and sinusitis, this pose is very effective in treating it. In addition to stimulating the thyroid gland and helping to remove excess phlegm and mucus, it also helps regulate breathing.
Bridge Pose (Sethubandasana)
For cold climates, this position is indicated to maintain the ideal temperature in the body and feel warmer as it helps improve blood circulation. Furthermore, it also helps us to tone the muscles and helps to open the chest, which helps to clear the airways.
Kapalabhati
This is one of the most effective asanas to help open the chest and pump fresh blood to the head. This asana is very useful for clearing congestion that can be caused during this cold season. In addition, performing this exercise stimulates the thymus gland, which is an important organ to increase immunity.
Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana)
This asana is one of the best if you want to start with more dynamic movements for the next ones you practice. The striking cobra pose helps revitalize the body and thus generates heat. Moreover to toning the abdomen, it also strengthens the spine while helping to stretch the chest and lungs. It is also very effective in calming sciatica and asthma symptoms.
Remember that in addition to your routines, it is important to keep yourself moving constantly, eat healthy and take care of your mental health at all times.
